Astrachanは、Astro Heart, Berta Bigtoeで活動するミュージシャン Ben Astrachanによるソロプロジェクト。

“This song is about watching a ship sinking in the distance and not knowing what to do. It’s almost a metaphor for the moments when a storm is brewing, when you can feel something catastrophic coming. The question becomes: what will you do before it hits? Will you try to help save the people already in the water, or will you turn away, waiting until it’s your own time to go under? For me, that idea resonates deeply with the contradiction of living as a Jew in this moment. We grow up with the phrase ‘never again,’ a moral imperative that extends beyond our own survival, never again for anyone. And yet, we’re watching devastation in Palestine unfold at the hands of the Israeli military, watching entire communities across the world suffer, and seeing people justify or look away from that violence. That’s ultimately what this song is about: the dissonance of witnessing destruction, the weight of complicity, and the choice we each have to either act or turn away.”
