Juppe、'Fun! And How To Have It'を公開

フィンランド/ヘルシンキ拠点のシンガーソングライター Juppeが、8/1にSolitiからリリースしたニューシングル 'Fun! And How To Have It'を公開！

9/19発売のニューアルバム『Fun! And How To Have It』タイトル曲。

演奏に Aapo Soulanto (moshimoshi, Ransukoira, Knife Girl), Joel Saikkonenが参加。

ポップ、ロック、ファンクを織り交ぜた折衷的なインディーサウンド。

“This one came together almost all at once. I really really like this one. I wouldn’t change a thing. The intro was originally a whole different song that never made the cut. Banished to the shadow realm of kinda okay songs.Having fun* for me is all about allowing yourself to be playful. J. Huizinga and his Homo Ludens probably agree! Letting myself play was really the guiding thought for me through this album. I think this will be the foot I’ll keep putting forward in the future. These sort of “revelations” can easily sound kind of trite, but I think that’s the bedrock you need to build fancier stuff on haha. I suppose no one wants to buy greeting cards filled with Hegel quotes? *Whether in love, art, games, sport, hieroglyphics, limnology... I think you get the idea.”

この曲は、ほとんど一気に形になりました。本当に本当に気に入っていて、何ひとつ変えたいところがありません。イントロはもともと別の曲だったのですが、最終的には採用されず、まあまあな出来の曲たちが集まる影の世界へと追いやられました。私にとって「楽しむこと」とは、自分に遊び心を許すことです。ヨハン・ホイジンガの『ホモ・ルーデンス』もきっと同意してくれると思います。このアルバム全体を通して、自分に「遊ぶ」ことを許すという考えが指針になっていました。そしてたぶん、これが今後も私の前に出す足になるのだと思います。こういう気づきは、安っぽく聞こえてしまいがちですが、そういうシンプルな土台があるからこそ、もっと凝ったものを作れるんだと思います。笑……でも、ヘーゲルの引用が書かれたグリーティングカードなんて、誰も買いたくないですよね？愛においても、芸術、ゲーム、スポーツ、ヒエログリフ、水文学……まあ、言いたいことは伝わると思います。
