ニュージーランド/オークランド出身でニューヨーク拠点のアーティスト Josef Scottが、3/27にリリースしたEP『Beacon Hill』より、'Everything'を公開！

ソウルフルなボーカルやグルーヴィーなギターとベースラインが魅力的で、特にリバーブの残響が印象的でした。

“Beacon Hill is a project about returning home and realising that home isn’t the same, and maybe I’m not either. I never intended it as a continuation of my previous EP Joy Street, but as the songs came together, I saw the bigger picture. Going back to New Zealand after a year of adversity, growth, and change felt like stepping into the past. It was comforting, but it also made me question everything I had worked toward. This EP captures that internal conflict - the push and pull between nostalgia and progress, between holding on and letting go. It’s about longing, about reconciling with the past, and about the people who shape us along the way. Writing and recording these songs became a way to process those emotions, to understand what home really means, and to accept that moving forward sometimes means leaving things behind.” – Josef Scott

『Beacon Hill』は、故郷に戻ったときに感じたこと―そこがかつてと同じ場所ではなく、もしかすると自分自身も変わってしまったかもしれないという気づきを描いたプロジェクトです。最初は前作のEP『Joy Street』の続編として作るつもりはなかったのですが、曲がまとまっていくにつれて、より大きなストーリーが見えてきました。一年間の試練、成長、変化を経てニュージーランドに戻ることは、過去へと足を踏み入れるような感覚でした。それは心地よいものでありながらも、自分がこれまで積み重ねてきたすべてを問い直させるものでもありました。このEPは、内なる葛藤を描いています――ノスタルジアと前進の間で揺れる気持ち、執着と手放すことの間のせめぎ合い。それは憧れの感情であり、過去との和解であり、そして人生の中で私たちを形作る人々についての物語です。これらの曲を書き、録音することは、自分の感情を整理し、“本当の意味での故郷”を理解し、前へ進むことがときに何かを置いていくことでもあると受け入れる手段になりました。— Josef Scott
