ニューヨーク/ブルックリン拠点の即興演奏家・ソングライター Wendy Eisenberg (Birthing Hips, Editrix)が、2/20にJoyful Noise Recordingsからリリースしたニューシングル 'I Don't Miss You'を公開！
多様なジャンルを渡り歩く多作なミュージシャンの新契約先は少し意外な Joyful Noise。
昨年は Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartetの一員としてツアーとライブ盤、Caroline Davisとのデュオ作品、ソロアルバム『Viewfinder』や、Shimmy-Discのボス Kramer, David Grubbs (Gastr del Sol)とのトリオ SQUANDERERSとしてのデビュー作を発表。
そして今年に入ってからは今月だけでも More Eazeとのデュオ whaitとして名レーベル Longform Editionsのラストを飾り、今回のシングルを発表し、月末から John Zornによって設立されたベニュー The Stoneでレジデンシーを務めるなど凄まじい活動量です。
毎年追いかけるだけでも精一杯なんだけど、なるべく聞き逃したくない稀有な存在です。
“This song was written during a period of my life when I was casually dating, which is a style of romance that does not come naturally to me (my tendency is to take things way too seriously for way too long). The people entering and exiting my life were fascinating and complete worlds unto themselves, and the brevity of our connections felt like the world was holding a mirror to me and breathing on it- alternately reflective and opaque. Of course I miss them. I miss everyone I’ve ever met!”
