ノワールとゴスの深い霧の中でサイケやシューゲイズを経由しながらポストパンクを鳴らしてきた人たちなので、新曲にトリップホップが来ても驚きはないのですが、アルバムの1曲目でこのムードを持ってくるのが最高。美学を感じるというか。

'You (The Feral Human Thunderstorm)'は、新作アルバムの幕を開ける曲だ。オープニングトラックとして、アルバム全体のムードを体現している。ひび割れたヒップホップのドラムが壁のように響き、ストリングスやバックグラウンドノイズが幾重にも重なり、繰り返しながら高まっていく。古いテープがリールの上を軋みながら回るようなサウンドだ。歌詞的にはロマンチックなカントリーバラードのような要素を持ちながらも、The Underground Youthにとってまったく新しい、異なるサウンドへと引きずり込まれている。 - Craig Dyer
