カナダ/シャーウッドパーク拠点のインディーロックバンド The Royal Foundryが、1/24にリリースしたニューシングル 'I Don’t Wanna Talk'のMVを公開！

The Royal Foundryは Jared Salte, Beth Schumacherの2人組。

90年代後半〜00年代前半の青春っぽい雰囲気だなーって聴いてたら、メンバーが子供時代に過ごしたベッドルームでこの曲を書いたというのを知って、そのニュアンスを音に落とし込むのが上手いと思いました。

“‘I Don’t Wanna Talk’ feels like the soundtrack to a nostalgic, cinematic coming-of-age love story” “From a songwriting perspective, we wanted to capture that bittersweet moment of vulnerability and connection—where two people realize they’re meant for each other, even if they’re too scared to say it out loud.” “There was something about being back in that space—surrounded by old posters, familiar creaks in the floor, and teenage memories—that brought out a sense of raw, restless energy. We wanted to channel that feeling of teenage angst and longing, where everything feels both incredibly fragile and overwhelmingly intense.”

'I Don’t Wanna Talk'は、ノスタルジックで映画のような青春ラブストーリーのサウンドトラックのような曲だと感じています。ソングライティングの観点から言えば、私たちはあのほろ苦い瞬間—二人がお互いに運命の相手だと気づきながらも、それを口に出すのが怖くて言えない—そんな脆さとつながりを表現したかったのです。あの空間に戻ることで、何か特別な感覚が生まれました。昔のポスターに囲まれ、床のきしむ音が響き、思春期の記憶がよみがえる。そこには、むき出しのエネルギーと抑えきれない衝動がありました。思春期特有の不安や切なさ、何もかもが壊れやすく、それでいて圧倒的に強く感じられるあの感覚を、この曲に込めたかったんです。
