カリフォルニア州拠点のサイケデリックロックバンド House Plantsが、6/7にPotted Plant Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル 'I Guess That I'd Forgotten What It Felt Like'を公開！

House Plantsはミュージシャン Kyle Stringerによるプロジェクト。

信号が1つしかない人口1,000人の町カンザス州ヘイブン出身で、これまでに Your Friend (Domino Recording Co.), Milk for the Angry (King Pizza Records), Heidi Gluck (Lotuspool), eggcorn, Narkalarkなどのバンドに参加してます。

'I Guess That I'd Forgotten What It Felt Like'は2020年発表のデビューアルバム『House Plants』以来の新曲。

モダンサイケやガレージサイケ、周辺マイクロジャンルのあらゆる溝に合いはするけどジャストではない中間の感じがかっこいい。

“This is a song about falling in love, and what a rollercoaster it can be! The euphoria, the manic feelings, it's all there. Your hands sweat and you try to understand what is happening to your brain and nervous system, but all you can really do is just be in it. Nothing has ever felt this way before and nothing will again, but yet the feeling is familiar. It was written while feeling infatuated, euphoric, & unsure of where it would lead. I Guess That I'd Forgotten What It Felt Like...”

これは恋に落ちることを歌った曲で、ジェットコースターのようなものだ！多幸感、熱狂的な感情、すべてがそこにある。手に汗を握り、自分の脳と神経系に何が起こっているのか理解しようとするが、本当にできることはただその中にいることだけだ。このような感覚は今までになかったし、これからもないだろうが、しかしこの感覚はなじみのあるものだ。この曲は、夢中になり、陶酔し、それがどこにつながるのかわからないと感じているときに書かれた。この感覚を忘れていたのかもしれない...。
