マサチューセッツ州出身のインディーロックアーティスト Elihu Okayが、1/12にNot Here Recordsからリリースしたニューシングル『Demo Derby 01』より、'Forever'のビジュアライザーを公開！
自身が主宰するレーベルを拠点にハイペースでリリースを続ける中、昨年には初の本人名義のアルバム『Friday Night』を発表。
この人のぶっきらぼうに歌うキャッチーなメロディーが好きなんですよね。今回の曲の題材も良い。ちなみに、アルバム制作よりも気軽にスケッチを共有するノリで、これから『Demo Derby』シリーズとして新曲を発表していくとのこと。
“Forever is about getting older and getting boring. It’s about trying to quit drinking without really wanting to quit drinking. I’m scared that being happy and having fun are somehow fundamentally incompatible, and that while my life continues to get richer, the most euphoric moments are all behind me. It sounds stupid to say out loud, but I'm scared that the more in control I am, the less creative I will be. I wrote this song on an acoustic guitar, like a folk song, and then I had to mess it up. I needed it to be ugly and jagged, at least a little.”
